Trip cancellation insurance is a type of insurance designed to reimburse policyholders for expenses incurred when a trip is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Such circumstances may include illness, urgent professional obligations, disasters or other events that result in the cancellation of a trip. The insurance provides compensation for prepaid expenses such as airline tickets, hotel reservations and other travel-related expenses in the event of cancellation.

The risks covered under this insurance are:

• Accidental death for persons over 14 years of age;
• Trip cancellation expenses;
• Trip curtailment or interruption expenses;
• Trip extension expenses;
• Flight delay;

The insurance is voluntary and is available for individuals and their families, as well as for groups of tourists. Both Bulgarian and foreign citizens can be insured, providing them with protection and peace of mind during a holiday, vacation, excursion, trip or sports activities in the mountains or at sea within the Republic of Bulgaria.

• Medical expenses actually incurred for first aid
• Expenses for subsequent treatment with hospitalization in a hospital
• Emergency dental care

Coverage includes costs resulting from accidents and/or acute illnesses outside the Republic of Bulgaria. This includes coverage for both professional and amateur athletes.

In the event of injury or death due to an accident or sudden illness, the insurance company, via an assistance company, offers 24-hour support to the insured or their beneficiaries. The insurance is effective during the insured's time outside their official or usual country of residence.
