Voluntary health insurance provides the insured with the opportunity to utilize additional health services, both within and outside the scope of mandatory health insurance. Both individual and group health insurance contracts can be established. The insured can choose the hospital in which they will be treated. Group health insurance contracts can be established either through subscription service or through reimbursement of costs.
Through voluntary health insurance with reimbursement of costs, the insured can receive treatment at a medical facility of their choice, paying for the medical services upfront. The health insurance company will then reimburse the costs incurred.
Through voluntary health insurance with subscription service, the insured can receive treatment at medical facilities with which the health insurance company has pre-established contracts. The costs of treatment are paid directly by the health insurance company.
